How it Works

The technical explanation:

This state-of-the-art Titan Hydroxyl Generator sends UV rays at 365nm, emitted from a TiO2 photo-catalytic lamp, through an anatase-coated glass sleeve to trap huge amounts of titanium dioxide. Next, electron hole pairs form and react with water and oxygen, producing free electrons and hydroxyl radicals that, when dispersed by a fan, literally convert organic and inorganic gases and air pollutants into carbon dioxide and water. There is no ozone at all produced from the Titan units. And UV rays in the 365nm spectrum are safe for human exposure. Humidity does not degrade performance; in fact, in humid environments, the Titan Hydroxyl units will produce of the purifying agents in high humidity.

Titan Hydroxyl Models

The Titan 4000 Hydroxyl Generator is a large unit with 5,000 CFM fan output, for effective treatment of up to 40,000 cubic feet. Safe to run in inhabited areas, the Titan 4000 is the right choice for air purification and deodorization of larger areas. Using an example of a 1,000 cubic foot area, the Titan 4000 can effectively sanitize and deodorize the air within 1 hour. Measuring 26″ x 26″ x 12″ and weighing in at 38.5 pounds, the Titan 4000 packs a lot of air purifying power into a portable form factor. The permanent, washable electrostatic filter measures 20″ x 20″ x 2″, with 94% arrestance.

The Titan 1000 Hydroxyl Generator uses the same technology in a smaller, more portable package. The 100 cfm fan disperses the purifying agents in treatment areas up to 10,000 cubic feet. For our example 1,000 cubic foot treatment area, the Titan 1000 will sanitize and deodorize the air within 3 – 4 hours and, because it is safe to be in the treatment area, you lose no time waiting for the air purifying agents to clear. Your crew can work alongside the Titan Hydroxyl units. Measuring 12 1/4″ x 9″ x 6″, the Titan 1000 weighs just 8 pounds, and comes with a washable 4″ x 4″ long-lasting foam filter.

Durability

The Titan Hydroxyl units have robust, commercial grade construction with heavy duty 14 guage aluminum powder-coated cabinets. Even replaceable components are robust: unlike consumer-grade UV lamps, the Titan’s TiO2 photo catalytic lamp is self-cleaning, and rated at 8,000 hours of continuous use.
